I am looking forward to presenting at the BEYOND 2020 conference in Gothenburg, Sweden. The conference aims to link the global building sector to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and is the final summit of 15 regional conferences that took place between October 2018 and December 2019. I will present on Circular Built Environments in Africa and address:

• Context
• Challenges and Opportunities
• Emerging Implementation Models

The presentation shows that there are very significant opportunities to integrate more circular approaches into cities, neighborhoods, buildings and services and products in Africa. These ‘leapfrog’ conventional, wasteful models to enable the development of sustainable built environments which create new enterprises and jobs as well as reducing environmental impacts.
