Coronavirus in Buildings

The Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is spreading very rapidly and disrupted many aspects of life.
While people live and work in buildings where they may be infected by Coronavirus there is limited practical guidance on what can be done to reduce the risk of this.

As we know from the WHO it is important to act fast. Therefore, I am developing a presentation that identifies practical actions that can be taken to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus in and around buildings which includes personal actions that can be taken as well as actions that can be taken by employers, building owners and facilities managers.

The structure of the presntation is as follows:

  • What is the Coronavirus?
  • How is it spread?
  • What can be done in buildings to reduce it’s spread?
  • Personal habits
  • Reducing the need to use public buildings
  • Getting to and from buildings
  • Entrances
  • Receptions
  • Workspace
  • Meeting rooms
  • Bathrooms
  • Surfaces
  • Cleaning
