The CIB, International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction invited me to talk on “Creating Smart Cities for the SDGs”.

My presentation was organized around the threads of Data, Connection, Citizen Participation, Technology, Innovation and Sustainability. I showed how concepts from these areas could be used to enable the SDGs to be achieved more rapidly and efficiently in cities and neighborhoods. This was illustrated through examples from India, China, USA, South Africa and Botswana.
