Can Circular Approaches Improve Urban Food Security?

Can circular approaches improve urban food security? Could agricultural residues from crops such as maize and sorghum be used to develop bio-based building products? How can waste from demolition and construction sites be used elsewhere instead of being directed to landfill? Can circularity be applied to facilities management? These were some of the questions we tackled in a Circular Economy Workshop for the construction and building sector in Botswana. Thank you, Karin Merle, Yame NkgoweMihaela BalanBusiness Botswana, and Botswana Green Building Council BotGBC organising this. The workshop was funded by EU Africa RISE (Reform for Investment and Sustainable Economies). We look forward to developing some of the ideas from the workshop and seeing where they go!
